I don't, but there's a sewing shop close to South Wimbledon tube - they might know?

Best places for sewing lessons in the London area used to be either one of the ladies at the WI or John Lewis.

John Lewis in Oxford St does run Saturday courses; they are around £100 for a morning, refreshments included. I was hoping to do something locally that was more an ongoing course, not a one off lesson where I'm left to manage on my own afterwards!!

I know the South Wimbledon shop you're referring to so I'll try to find out from them.

Cheers.

The sewing rooms in Putney run various clubs and classes. The staff are lovely there.

That sounds interesting anne, do you happen to have their details?

They are on Lacey Road, just along from the Putney Exchange shopping centre. They don't have an online timetable and I don't know where my copy is so you would need to give them a call on 020 8780 0126 to get class details. You join their sewing club (I think it is about £40 and you get money off purchases in the shop) and then I think you can go to their club sessions where you can use their machines and get help from a staff member, or you can pay for individual tuition or for one of their courses or classes. I think that is how it works - I haven't used the club since having my ds. They have some evening club sessions and weekend/weekday courses.
The owners are called Zena and Helle - you can either give them a call or pop in. They are very nice and helpful.
