I cannot find the thread that was going on here a little whilst ago and it really gave me the kick up the backside motivation I needed to get things done.

Now I haven't acheived much today but I have blogged some pics of the playhouse I have been revamping and this afternoon I have made a little pendant out of a washer (still waiting for it to dry) and I have started making a kiddies mobile/wind charm thingie.

Anyone care to join me and share motivation and creativity! PLEASE!!!

Ahh yes, jackbauer (or one of her many incarnations ) started it (I think). I'd love to join in again

Today I have started on a knitted bunny cuddle cushion and am pondering what to do with a job lot of 3cm macrami beads I won on ebay. I think I may make crochet covers for them and sell them on...

i finally made a start on my GDs quilt....i bought the fabric in September and finally got around to starting yesterday evening - only to find I miscalculated somewhere and now have to do 2 applique blocks as well. Doh!

No pressure as I have to finish this one and her brothers before 20th....Eeek!

DingALongCow · 04/08/2010 20:41

I knitted another couple of squares of a blanket I am making for DD, 100 in total, 13 to go.

I also picked up some bargain curtains from IKEA, thick upholstery fabric and bright patterns. 10 metres for £5. They werent priced and I was lucky enough to get a bored teenage worker who told me he could only find the £1 stickers out the back! I have unpicked them and am fluttering over the possibilities of cushions and a new loose cover for the sofa

I didn't manage much at all yesterday as we were having a ceiling replastered and I had to keep the DC closely occupied (DD has Down Syndrome and if I wasn't careful, she's have been in there trying her hand at plastering too!Grin)

We all sat and did a bit of crafting together, the DC made a few model animals from that magic maize stuff and I painted the first coat of a decoupage project I am making for a challenge on another forum.

I plan to try my hand at making a few more pendants from washers today and perhaps get the children involved in making some more of our mobile/wind chime art work thingy for the playhouse!

NO real housework today, I am waiting for the plaster dust to settle before I do a complate blitz...so I am allowing myself some creative time today!

Good luck with your crafty time too! X

hello, please may i join in?

i have recently bought a new sewing machine, i have been practising on a couple of quite simple things (dont laugh!, i have made a couple of pinnies from a vintage pattern i found, very 'cath kidston') these are the first things i have made since school, (many years ago!) i also have a piece of embroidery on the go which i am enjoying.

I was given a cute teatowel from my dds for Christmas. It actually has a print on of an elephant with dotted lines and instructions for cutting it out and making a toy elephant!
Am working up the courage to get out the sewing machine ;-)

Dingle · 07/08/2010 09:08

Can I count painting a ceiling as my daily creativity today please? LOL

Please may I join in too?

I am currently making a quilt for DD with applique on and will eventually make matching curtains, cushions and bunting. I also have a huge list of things to do for birthdays coming up etc.

I have just entered a cardigan, some jam and a cake at my local show - the doors open after judging at 2pm!

jesuswhatnext · 07/08/2010 12:53

good luck ele!! my dm does those comps, really enjoys it and usually gets a cup! Envy

today i am helping dd finish a dress she started yesterday, a lovley vintage pattern from the fifties.

Dingle · 07/08/2010 15:14

The more the merrier!

How exciting, have you done that before ele?

I haven't done the ceiling yet, only one coat of PVA so far but I still need to make and blog a card for scheduling on my blog for 7.30 tomorrow morning.

I also wanted to do a few online searches for some suitable stringing material for the washer pendants I am making.

I think kaloki started the original thread, I let it disappear slowly off my threads out of shameGrin
I only have 4 weeks before I go back to uni fulltime so want to make the most of it. Am currently making crochet roses to decorate a blacke canvas messenger bag I bought for uni.
Managed 2 today!

DingALongCow · 07/08/2010 20:07

I have a huge list too ele, but it seems to get longer rather than shorter!

DDs blanket now only has 9 squares to go.
I washed and ironed all the fabric that was waiting so I can now start measuring up for the sofa covers. Also planned and printed out a design for a space invaders quilt for my brother's christmas present. Its a big project so it might be finished for Christmas 2011!

elephantshavebigtrunks · 08/08/2010 12:10

Well, my cake came 3rd, my strawberry jam came 3rd, raspberry jam came 2nd and my cardigan came 1st! And I won a cup for most outstanding item in the show! (it is a very small village...) It was my first ever show and I am feeling quite proud of myself - I have put the cup on the mantelpiece!

Yesterday I managed to finish the top of the quilt I am making and today I am starting on the back which has four blocks on it.

I looked at the card on your blog Dingle and it looks beautiful!

Dingle · 08/08/2010 12:13

In an attmept to be organised for Christmas this year, I decided to make a Christmas card for my Design Team card this week. I eventually managed to finish and blog it this morning and after lunch I need to do more painting!Hmm

elephantshavebigtrunks · 08/08/2010 12:38

I think I have just added a photo - I don't know if it has worked though.

jesuswhatnext · 09/08/2010 14:26

well done ele!! what a lovley sense of achievment! - i am looking to start making xmas presents now, trying to think of a few 'differant' ideas, so far have not come up with any! Confused

DingALongCow · 09/08/2010 17:14

Well done ele, the cardigan looks great-I can see why it won! I only started knitting in January so I can only dream of such glory!

I'll probably knit a few more squares tonight, just 7.5 left.

I also passed my favourite fabric shop and bought just over a metre of some very pretty fleece with butterflies on and 3 metres of flannelette for DD's Christmas pyjamas. I think I'll turn the fleece into baby blankets, but DD has her beady eye on it for a blanket of her own.

shongololo · 09/08/2010 20:04

I finished my quilt top yesterday and half way through machine quilting it with big daisies....it looks ok, but hard to tell until its all finished and bound.

Ive done an ABC block from a panel, cut apart, and sashed each block with either pink or cream alternating blocks. Wish Id chosen white instead of cream, as its a bit bland looking. DEcided to quilt in varigated pink, and will bind in bright pink.

Fought with the sewing machine tension all day - one minute it was fine, the next minute I have small loops at the back like the top tenson had gone haywire. Then it fixed itself - random!

Hope to finish quilting tonght and then tidy up tomorrow. Then on to quilt two - space themed so planning to do quilt star pattern.

Formerly broken arm is giving me gyp tho - think i must have damaged tendon when I broke it and todays quilting has left me all achey.

Dingle · 31/08/2010 11:36

I am doing terribly with the creativity - the school holidays have got the better of me and challenges around the house have just taken over. Things like plastering and patio laying! Hmm

BUT I HAD TO make a card for DS's birthday - he was 11 yesterday! I thoroughly enjoyed making it too!

DS's Birthday card!

Has anyone else been creative?
