Hi all,
Recently got the results of my combined screening test and I have 1/280 chance of trisomoy 21. I know this is still technically low risk but it still feels much higher than friends' results. For context I am 36, white ethnicity.

  • NT 1.5 (normal)
  • PAPP A 0.6 mom (low ish)
  • bhcg 2.23 mom (high)
We had the NIPT prior to this are recieved a low 1/ 10000 result. However, I just can't seem to shake the NHS result off and am overly worrying about the risk of false negatives with NIPT. Also about the high bhcg. Really don't want an amnio or CVS. Does anyone have some words of reassurance? Many thanks

The NIPT is much more accurate than the combined test. If you had a high chance combined test, the next step would be to offer NIPT. If the NIPT came back low chance, I really think you can feel reassured.

Im a sonographer btw - the NIPT is much more accurate than what we can do but your NT is also very reassuring.

@dammit88 Thank you! Hearing this has helped. I wish I knew the formula used. Like does NT matter more than hormone levels? Pregnancy is a never ending worry!
