I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant. At around 9 weeks I has my first blood test results back. Everything was normal except raised folate (I was taking 800mcg someone unintentionally but having a type of thalassemia I do need 600mcg). My B12 levels were normal.
Has anyone else had elevated folate in their first trimester but gone on to have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies? Whilst low folate isnt ideal, I've rea elevated levels can interfere with brain development etc.
Really wanting to enjoy this pregnancy but have spent most of my time worried. Midwives have been a little dismissive and just said 'don't worry' rather than explaining why there isn't a reason to worry.
I know some of these studies are small scale and 'correlation doesn't equal causation' but this isn't helping to ease my mind.
