Testing for Down’s syndrome

Hi just looking to see if anyone has been through something similar and can tell me about their experiences. Today I had a call that both babies are high risk of having Down syndrome. Twin 1, 1 in 11 chance and twin 2 1 in 3 chance. I have opted to have the amniocentesis test that gives a more accurate reading for each baby. Although measurements on my 12 week scan were fine results in my bloods are out. They have ruled out Edwards/ patau syndrome.
Just looking to see if anyone has been through this and if there has been instances where both twins have not had downs after these tests.
My mind is all over the place at the minute with the uncertainty of it all xx

How long do you have to wait for your results? I had my NIPT today and it's a week. They seemed to imply an NIPT wasn't really suited to twins so I can see why you went for the amnio.

Waited 1 week for the results of the blood test but they said the amino gives a more accurate result for each one it’s booked in on Monday they said should have results from that within 3 days x

How did you get on ?

They are both fine no downs and both girls. I did have fluid leaking from twin 1 then the hole appeared to seal and fluid is normal level . Now 24 weeks 4 days 😊 x

Twins with Down syndrome! My son has Down syndrome, and I don't think I could handle two with it. Will say I don't regret having him; he has been an absolute joy to have in my world. Don't think I could do twins, though. The first few years with him were so hard and demanding. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.
