Hi, I am only 22 year old recently did my screening test which said I had a higher risk of my child having Down syndrome as it is 1 in108. I will be opting for NIPT soon but what worries me the most is the fact that I am not even that old to have the factors in, The anxiety is really eating me on the inside. I hope there is someone with a relevant experience let me know how it went.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t that a like 0.9% chance? That seems low to me.

Are you able to have a nuchal translucency test as well as NIPT, OP? I ask because I was given a Downs Syndrome probability score of 1:67 (aged 42). That went down to 1:600+ after the NTT. As well as the reassuring score, the positive comments from the obstetrician about where the foetus had implanted in my womb gave me a real boost. I'm not sure what the funding situation is but it might be worth you asking. I hope you find a way of quelling your anxiety and are able to enjoy your pregnancy.

I have no Idea because the way the claimed it sounded really serious as it is my first pregnancy and all. I am opting for NIPT for now which will be on Monday but the result will take 2 weeks amd i feel like my anxiety will eat me up by then

I'm currently in the 2 week wait period and the anxiety is awful. Hope everything went well for you? Any update? Xx
