Hi, looking for opinions please.
we went for a gender scan last week at 17 +3 and were told boy, but I have seen a lot of threads online about boys being mistaken before 18wks for their cord or swelling. What are people’s thoughts please, is baby definitely a boy?
I am carrying the exact same as my first girl, have all the old wives tale symptoms for a girl and my gut instinct was a girl so was shocked to hear ‘boy’
(please be kind looking for opinions not rudeness)
thank you! Xx

Definitely boy

It's much less common for them to mistake girl for boy rather than vice versa.
I would say that definitely looks boyish and also bear in mind they are looking at a moving image with a trained eye, not just a blurry still photograph.

In terms of all the old wives tales, I take them all with a pinch of salt. I'm 25 weeks with my second girl and the two pregnancies have been about as opposite as they could possibly be. She's definitely a girl (very clear scans and DNA from NIPT) but ticks all the 'boxes' for a boy in terms of cravings, bump shape, symptoms etc. Don't get hung up on the fun theories.
