High Risk Combined Screening

Hi Everyone,

I'm posting to get some reassurance as my heart is breaking.

I had my combined screening results that put me at high risk for Edwards and Patau (1in 2). My papp-a was so low, it was basically non-existent (0.07) and HCG levels low too (0.18) but NT was normal (2mm).

I've had my NIPT and just waiting helplessly for the results.

I'm only 32, so not exactly higher risk in maternal age, and this is my first pregnancy.

The only comfort I have is that my little one has been super active during ultrasounds and nothing has been picked up on the scans. The last one I had was at 13 +1.

Has anyone experienced similar results and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy?

Any stories would be really appreciated as I just need a little bit of hope while I wait x

If anyone is even in the a similar position, waiting for results, or been through this, I'd really appreciate some insights x

hi lovely . I’m not in the same position but couldn’t read and run without saying I’m sending you thoughts and prayers.

ive missed my combined test and waiting for results of quadruple test so im in the waiting too but appreciate it’s nothing like yours with the info you have so far. You still have a chance of things being okay. I’ll be thinking of you 💐

Thank you so much for responding 💖

Definitely holding onto hope that everything will be okay. The midwife did say that with these odds, there could be 2 people in the room with my exact scores and 1 of them would be okay and the other wouldn't. So I'm hopeful that the low scores aren't a fully determining factor.

All the best with your results from the quadruple test. We're definitely in the same boat in that the waiting is so tough. May it be good news for us both 🙏 💖 x

Yes I’ve seen a few threads on here with people told to expect the worst and they held on to hope and have a healthy 11 year old.

Have you spoken to Arc or had them in mind to call when you have your results? That’s what I would do. Speaking to people with all the time in the world for your specific concern can be so helpful.

Yes, I've seen those stories too, which helps give me hope.

I've got ARC's details from my midwife and saw them mentioned on here a few times too, so will definitely give them a call when their lines are open tomorrow.

Thank you 💖

Thinking of you too 💖. When are you due to get the results for your quadruple test? X

Unfortunately, NIPT came back high risk for Edwards :( we're heartbroken, but holding onto hope that we're going to be the 1% exception so won't be getting invasive testing, but will continue on with scans to see baby's development x

Hello. I’ve not been on the boards yet but I just wanted to reach out to you, last year I was 1 in 5 for T13/18 and sadly NIPT came back positive for T18. It was such a tough time in our lives but we made it through. ARC were such a big help, they have an amazing forum that only parents who have been through a TFMR can join so it’s very safe and honest.

I’m sorry to hear your update OP but will be willing you on with your next scan. 💐
