Hi all,

I have my 12 week scan booked a day before my booking in appointment, will this be an issue? It’s my second pregnancy, I can’t remember the procedure but I definitely had my booking appointment before my 12 week scan last time. I can’t get ahold of the bookings department at the moment and just having a mini panic that they’re not going to be able to do all the tests at the scan!

Thank you 😊

No it doesn’t matter at all. I had my second pregnancy booking in appt last week, they do the “are you scared of your partner” check, take bloods and test your carbon dioxide levels.

It’ll be absolutely fine. You might find you don’t need to give blood twice and they do it all from the one lot, if you’ve got a well connected hospital.

Shouldn't be at all, my booking appt was just going through a long questionnaire and being given all the pamphlets.

There's this link on NhS website about what is covered in the various visits which might help.

Ideally the midwife will have given you the info about screening for Down's, Edward's and Patau's as you'll be offered it at the scan, but if you already know for sure whether you want it or not it shouldn't be a problem.
