I'm currently 8 weeks 6 days preganant today (6th september) I don't know when my last period was!
I had intercourse 13th June and 20th July. Is Mr 20th July the father?

I had a 6 week scan and they said due date is 10th April. How accurate is this? I assume that if I go to my 12 week scan and they said I am due in March then it has to be Mr June's baby or if they say due in April is defo Mr July's baby?
Thankyou very much!!

From my rough understanding of when ovulation usually occurs, it would be Mr 20th. BUT chances are, the estimate will probably change a bit.

I was once told by a midwife they use your 12 week scan estimate if you don’t have the date of your last period, because that’s the scan they have the most data for so it’s the most accurate estimate.

Also, with the 2 men that close together I don’t think you can ever say for sure without a DNA test.

Completely understand. However, they are approx 6 weeks apart? Surely if the 12 week scan says due in April it will be Mr July's? Many thanks for your comments

While it can be out by a few days, it definitely won't be out by 5 weeks, so assuming your cycles don't fluctuate too wildly you can take their estimate in good faith.

You’ll have to wait for 12 week scan really, at 6 weeks a couple of millimetres difference in size could throw the result by weeks either way as they are so tiny at that stage. By your 12 week scan they can get a much better understanding.

It's common to measure a few days either way or even a week out but not 5 weeks!
The difference on a scan at 8 weeks vs 13 weeks is huge!
Of course you'll get your official due date at the 12 week scan which people sometimes call the 'dating scan'. Whatever gestation they give you then, take off 2 weeks and count back. That'll give you an estimated date for ovulation.
So, if you're exactly 12 weeks on the day of the scan, count back 10 weeks

My due date was 1 week off the first time (they told me the baby was conceived a week before she actually was and when we didn’t even had sex) and a few days off the 2nd time.

but it can never be 5-6 weeks off as the growth is exponential in the first trimester.

so you will know when you get your due date.

keep in mind that it can be a week off either side (maximum) and also that sperm lives for about 5 days inside you.

the reason to take 2 weeks off the gestational age they tell you (to find out when you conceived) is because they calculate it from the first day of your last period but fertility and conception is roughly 2 weeks later.
