I had my 12 week scan today at 13 weeks.
Baby initially looked great, measuring a few days ahead and good heartbeat.
however the Nuchal measurement was 4mm
we are now under the fetal medicine team and I’m booked for CVS on monday
does anyone have any experiences with a measurement like this?
im also beside myself worrying about the CVS procedure as its not done under any anaesthetic? Any experiences would be welcome
Many thanks

Hi, I had the screening and then NIPT as was coming back high for T21. I had the amnio on Wednesday and it wasn’t painful just a little uncomfortable. Just try not to look and stay relaxed. I know it’s hard to stay relaxed when having something like that done. I wish you all the luck in the world.

I had ammio on Monday which is said to be similar procedure. I agree it is not painful, but a bit uncomfortable and for me the panic around it was worse (I always have a bit of a panic drama before any needle, so it was similar just on a different scale)

Hey hope you’re ok, just to reassure you, I had a nuchal measurement of 6mm at 12 week scan which then resolved by 16 weeks and no cause was found. I had a clear amnio test too, hope you’re getting on ok now x

@Chunk23 thank you for these kind and reassuring words.

i will update this thread as I know that was useful when I was going through this. We had normal results from our CVS and all scans with fetal medicine were normal. We have been discharged from fetal medicine and back on a normal pregnancy pathway.
