Hi all,

First post! Here goes.

I am 38 soon to be 39 next week. This is my first child. My NIPT came back as a higher chance and have the Amniocentesis on Wednesday. Has anyone else had this and all was ok? I’m now 15 weeks and just can’t sleep or function properly the wait is wearing me down.

@T168 I'm sorry, I haven't experienced this myself but just wanted to send positive wishes your way. Hope it all turns out OK

Have you had a scan yet? What has it come back with higher probability for? T21, T18 or T13. You are more likely to get a false positive for T18/T13 than T21.

@CrunchySnow I had a scan at 12 weeks and NT was 3mm, I opted for the screening and it came back high, so then had the NIPT which came back as higher chance, both for T21. I have had the amniocentesis this morning, so waiting for results

Sorry to hear this @T168 . I went through similar , and the outcome of all tests I had lead to the most awful decision to terminate . 3 months on now . feel free to message if you need any support x

I went through this last year, same age as you. My result came back as 1:5 of DS and I had to have an amniocentesis. I was a mess waiting for the result as this was a much wanted baby after 4 years of TTC and having IVF.

The result came back clear and the relief was immense. I wouldn't wish the wait on anyone, it's so stressful and your mind goes everywhere. I'm so sorry you're going through this and hopefully you get your result very soon.

Sending love xx

I'm so sorry, I've been through this myself for a different trisomy. I've had a lot of support from a couple of boards on TFMR and also TTC after a TFMR over on Babycentre, let me know if you would like the links.

I am in contact with ARC, but anything more would be useful please. Thank you x

Yes ARC are very good, they have a private forum which is helpful. Here are the links to the other boards I mentioned
