Screening for Downs, Edwards & Patau

I'm due to have my dating scan in a couple of weeks time. If they do the screening for Downs syndrome, Edwards and Patau at the scan, do you get the results there and then on the same day or do you have to wait for them? If so how long?
Thanks :)

You get the measurement for the fluid in the back of the neck there and then (on your report) and the person scanning told me it was within normal ranges.
For the whole screening process, you also have to have a blood test and they then add in other factors, like age, weight, family history etc… and you get a overall risk factor for them a few days later.

Just to add, my area has an app with your notes on, so that might mean I got the results sooner. Some areas, it might be more “no news is good news” and if they don’t ring you, it’s low chance.

For both my pregnancies I received the results in the post a week or two after the tests. I'd imagine if it was a high risk result that you'd get a phone call or appointment to discuss.

I received a low risk letter about 10 days after my tests. Had it been high risk they would have phoned me apparently

At my Trust I had done the blood test 1 week before the scan. The sonographer had the results and was then able to combine the blood test results with measurements taken at the scan and give me the full results on the day of the scan in person. It was great and reassuring, but sounds like that is not normal practice.
