Hello everyone

im 15 weeks pregnant and have a balanced translocation. I had a cvs done 3.5 weeks ago and have still not heard any results. I’ve contacted the genetic team and they said results should be by Tuesday at latest. Has anyone waited 4 weeks for cvs results?

Hi, I didn't want to read and run. I have testing due to a balanced translocation as well and had amnio done not CVS. I got the results back in 10 days, I think CVS is supposed to be about 2 weeks so I would definitely chase it. Sorry you've had to wait so long

My cvs wasn’t for translocation but I got my results within 24 hours.

I had a cvs around two months ago. My initial test results came back at 10 days but it did take longer for the full profile, 4 weeks.

Hi @Grace017 did you get your results? I hope it was all ok.

I have just found out last week that I have a balanced translocation (from karyotyping due to 3 miscarriages), but am also pregnant with 4th attempt (we got the results after we were already pregnant). Things are going a lot better this time (normal 7 week scan this week with heart beat + well grown), but I'm anxious about having another miscarriage now we know we're at increased risk. Did your genetics team give you a risk % for miscarriage? They told us we have a 10% chance of Down's syndrome if baby lives, but they didn't say what the chance of miscarriage is.

Hope your pregnancy is going well and the results were good.

@Cosmos24 I've found myself in the exact same situation - pregnant for the 4th time and just got my blood test results.

Can I ask how your pregnancy is going? I have a scan on Fri at the EPU at 7 weeks and couldn't imagine it going well before, now I have even less hope.

Im sorry for late replies, I’ve just come across my post.
I welcomed baby girl into the world 6/12 perfectly healthy.
my CVS results took just over 4 weeks, and it was a extremely anxious wait.

I was told I’d have 10% chance of a miscarriage, 10% chance of a baby with unbalanced translocation and 80% normal.

i hope everything is going well in everyone’s pregnancy. It hasn’t been as easy journey for myself, as I had 3 previous loses, but in glad I have my baby girl here now

i wish everyone the best in there pregnancies. Take care
