TTC after miscarriage

Hi everyone, I'm new here so hope I've posted in the correct place etc.
My husband and I were overjoyed in March to discover I was pregnant however sadly we went for a scan at 11w which found our baby had passed around 10w2d. This was 3 weeks ago and I chose to undergo medical management.

My medical management was 2 weeks ago and since then I've continued to have cramping and spotting (plus some thicker small "clots" when I go to the toilet) I know I passed the foetus and the placenta at the hospital and have contacted EPAU but essentially they aren't interested in seeing me until it's been 3 weeks, so here we are.

I really have 2 questions. How soon after medical management did you feel ok to have sex again? I really miss intimacy with my husband and although I do still have light bleeding I would be keen to start having sex again asap. Also how soon after could I expect to ovulate? I did an LH test this morning and an HCG and as you can see the HCG is lightly negative but the LH is a dye stealer (may be a false positive from raised HCG?)

Any advice is much appreciated (I've got nowhere with asking the health professionals nobody can give me an actual answer)

So sorry for your loss. Yep, the LH positive is due to the HCG, I found ovulation test trips almost better than pregnancy tests! I ovulated three weeks after I stopped bleeding, so a little late but not hugely. I have it in my head it's best to wait six weeks after a managed miscarriage to allow you to heal and reduce infection risk. So sorry you're going through this.

I don’t have the answer but interested in what others’ say as i am in a similar situation and its good to share stories anyway:

we lost our baby at 15w+3d via induction and delivery. I bled for a week and a half and then for about 5-6 days I’ve been very very lightly bleeding. It seems almost like it’s once a day it will be so so light and very little.

i am currently waiting for that to stop completely so we can start having sex again. (Today marks 2 weeks and 3 days post birth).

im also wondering when ovulation will happen for me - it can’t happen when I’m still bleeding can it?

we’re desperate ttc again so this wait is torture.

I was recommended to wait and have a normal period first - this is a good indicator that the miscarriage has cleared, and also it would allow more accurate dating if you get pregnant again. We wait a couple of months in the end, I struggled emotionally and wanted to get to a better headspace before TTC again, I'm glad we did wait. Luckily I'm 21 weeks now. With surgery, I'd be inclined to wait a month or two to ensure everything has healed.
