Hi i'm wondering if anyone can give me some positive stories

after my 12 week scan last week i got a call to say i had 1/24 chance of my baby having down syndrome and i've been an emotional wreck ever since! i feel like i'm falling into some sort of depression, i feel like i'm no longer excited about my pregnancy i'm just so scared and worried.

i had the NIPT test on Tuesday and now waiting for my results which is killing me.

my results are

NT: 3.2 (which i don't think is alarming but on the higher end?)
HCG: 1.81 MoM
PAPP-A: 0.83 MoM

has anyone had similar results?

Hey Rebecca,
I know this post is from early February, but I have VERY similar B-HCG and PAPP-A numbers to what you have! Actually mine B-HCG is slightly higher than yours and PAPP-A is a bit lower. My risk was assessed at 1 in 25 (4%) in my baby having Trisomy 21 (downs).
I am currently in the waiting of the NIPS test and am having the hardest time keeping myself calm.
I was so relieved to read that your results came back negative for Downs! That gives me some hope as our numbers were SO close!!
Question for you! Did your doctor or OBGYN mention if there was another reason for your high HCG and low PAPP-A numbers? I am curious about that with my own pregnancy.
Let me know if you want to connect! I am currently 13 weeks pregnant and in Canada! :)

Looking forward to hearing from you!!

Hey Emsmith87!

My numbers are literally almost identical as yours!! I'm currently dealing with the same thing as you - completed the Nuchal Translucency testing and came back with wonky B-HCG and PAPP-A numbers, which then put me at a 1 in 25 risk of my baby having DS.
I'm currently 15 weeks and I just did NIPT testing Wednesday this week and am waiting on the results. Fingers crossed everything is okay!
What did your NIPT testing come back with if you don't mind me asking?

Hi countrygirl,

Sending you a gigantic hugs. I know the wait is literally horrible! I had my bloods taken Thursday afternoon and they technically were back at the hospital Wednesday evening but they had gone home so I found out first thing on a Thursday morning.

Mine came back low risk thank goodness and got the all clear with everything at the 20 week scan last week.

Will pray for you. Keep the faith as you will see there's tons of tons of positive stories. Xxx
