1:4 results on Quad

Hi, I was not able to get measurements or my bloods done at 12 weeks as they booked me in too late and the baby was moving too much. I have had the quadruple test which has come back really high risk 1:4 ( I have really high HCG and Inhabin A) and I haven’t stopped crying. I have had my Amniocentesis and will receive the results next week- I was wondering if anyone has had anything similar? x

Hi - I feel for you, such a horrible place to be. The quad test is notoriously inaccurate. If it helps, I had a 1 in 2 chance of Downs at my 12 week screening (everything was off, including NT), I had NIPT which was low chance. Didn’t go for amnio so don’t know for sure but I’m due in 2 weeks so will update then. Amnio will tell you for certain. My foetal meds consultant told me to disregard the 1 in 2 as it’s just an algorithm and nipt is more accurate. Really hoping you get the results you want from amnio, and just wanted to reiterate that I really, really feel for you.

Thank you so much for your sweet message, I really appreciate it so much it’s so kind of you. I’m so happy you got the result you wanted 🙏. I think it’s really rare that the NIPT isn’t accurate as I heard they are going to use that instead of lots of the other ones soon. Wishing you a smooth birth with your sweet baby 💖

Hi All. Just wondered what your results were in the end. Like the OP they couldn’t get measures at my scan and my quads come back increased chance so I’m now waiting on NIPT results and the wait is unbearable. I had the NIPT Tuesday. How long did you wait? I hope all was well x

@AimeeLou84 hi - sorry you’re going through this. I had my baby in December and he didn’t have Down syndrome, so the nipt
was correct in my case - I hope all works out for you, the wait for results was hell so You have my sincerest sympathy. I have had nipt
with both my pregnancies as both were higher chance and I think results took approx 7/8 days. Really wishing you well with it x
