I had my scan on Monday I was 12 weeks and 3 days, the baby's neck was measuring thicker than what it should be so I went for my bloods doing, my results came back yesterday and it's come back as a 1 in 35 chance for Down syndrome, I've been for the more intensive bloods doing today and I'm just wondering if anyone has been through this and everything turned out ok and didn't turn out to be Down syndrome

Hi - I had this in 2020 with my son, 1 in 29 chance of Down syndrome. Had the NIPt blood test and it came back very unlikely and he was born without Down syndrome. Try not to worry, 1 in 35 is not a very high chance when you look at it in percentages. Currently going through the same thing again with my second but I had a 1 in 2
chance this time. I feel for you, it is worrying but there is every chance it will be ok.

It's definitely the most scared I've been it's more waiting for results what scares me hopefully not long before I hear something x

Hi, just thought I would share my experience. I have 4 children already, my eldest being 20! I am having a surprise pregnancy at 42 years old. We were given the NHS screening test which came back at 1:18 and NF was 2.99 mm.

I refused amnio due to risk of miscarriage and opted for NIPT instead Came back as high risk. I have researched and researched and researched and accepted baby will have DS. We are under care of fetal medicine and baby is doing fabulous. Currently 30 weeks. I experienced fear, anxiety, cried lots etc at first but have now accepted it and am actually excited. She is just a baby at the end of the day and will just be a different journey with this one. I am determined to make it work and for her to have a full and happy life xxx

Not the same experience, but at 13 weeks I had a normal scan, followed by high risk combined screening (1 in 28 chance of Edwards and Pataus). NIPT came back as low risk and at 21 weeks, all scans are looking good. It’s such a worrying time…I hope everything is ok for you.
