I'm 43 years old and have 4 healthy children, youngest is 1yrs born last June. I'm 12 wks +6. I had my 12 week scan last Friday and was told there's fluid around baby and a NT of 7.4. My blood results were in on Tuesday with 1:200 of P &E and less than 1:4 of DS.
Yesterday I had the CVS procedure in Bristol and hopefully will have the results by Tuesday next week. We are struggling at the moment to get our heads around it, I'm reading positive and negative outcomes on various forums and trying not to lose hope but it's very hard. Can anyone share their experiences good or bad.

Hi thanks for sharing your story did you get your cvs results back? I’m going for an Amnio test in 2 weeks when I am 16 weeks to get a proper diagnosis.
mice heard so many mixed things on people going for the NIPT and the Results being wrong 😑
The CVS and Amnio are a proper diagnostics test where the other 2 before this are just screening so these are the accurate ones.

Hope it all went well for you please update on here if you can.

I'm very sorry you're going through it and I wish I had a positive reply for you regarding my baby but my little girl has downs, confirmed yesterday, because of the adema as well it's a big indication there's a heart issue as well. I'm booked for next Thursday to end the pregnancy. Every professional I've dealt with has been amazing though, very supportive and caring and they've taken the time to listen to me. The nurse who told me my results said they usually only get about 4-5 cases a year where they have to tell a lady but I'm the third patient in the last 2 weeks, they find it so sad as well. I hope your little one is okay please update me I will be thinking of you, sending you love. X

Hi Lins1505,

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. Life is cruel at times.

Last year I fell pregnant in June after MC in March.
Our NT Scan came back as 6.5mm. Which we were told was extreme and indicated a problem, had various tests and saw about 5 consultants. Sadly our girl had heart defects and Turners syndrome which effects 1 in 5000.
Sadly we were told that I wouldn't make it to term.
Our girl was born in October...
It's awful and utterly heartbreaking so I can completely understand your worries and anxieties.
Our consultant ordered Genetics blood tests for us and both me and Hubby were all clear. It was just the very tragic hand we were dealt.

I'm now 9 weeks along with 4th pregnancy and I'm absolutely dreading my 12 week scan on 11th Aug. It's so hard because you really want to enjoy every moment of being pregnant but it's all tinged with worry every single day.
You can't not know what you know..
Sending lots of love and good wishes to you and your family ❤️

Hi MrsW94,

Thank you for sharing your experience and your kind words. I'm trying not to think about next week and fortunately four children have a tendency to be quite distracting lol, bless their hearts.

I'm so sorry for your losses ❤️ I can imagine how incredibly anxious you must be right now, it's supposed to be such a joyful, exciting time and naturally you will be so worried. I am waiting for genetics testing to come back as well, hopefully all clear. Take comfort in they did that testing for you and everything was clear, it was an awful one off occurrence hopefully for yourself 🤞 but until you get past these scans no amount of reassurance will help I'm sure.
I can remember my gran telling me that when she was pregnant with her 6th child the doctor ordered her to rest, have a cigarette & a gin & tonic! Lol, how things change 80 years on & they had none of this testing to worry about.

Is your scan at 12 weeks still or have they offered anything earlier for you given the traumatic time you had last year? I would love you to updated with how things are going & have good news everything is looking good. Love and best wishes.

Sorry I beg your pardon you did say your scan is the 11th august. Its a shame they couldn't do anything earlier given the circumstances xx

Hi,

Yes my 12 week scan with this pregnancy is 11th Aug.
I have already had several since I got my BFP. Pretty much every week to 10 days. I'm under some specialist care, with consultants etc. They've been very good so far.
I've been fine with this pregnancy so far so hoping we will get a positive outcome. Nothings ever guaranteed unfortunately!
Trying to take each day and week as it comes. Wish we could fast forward xx
