Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or could shed light.
Currently 27+6 pregnant and have experienced foul smelling urine in the morning so called the midwife and they asked me to drop off my urine sample, I gave them my first wee on the day. Midwife did a dip test and detected high levels of nitrates so told me to call GP straight away.
called GP who asked me to come do another urine sample and fill in a questionnaire. I have no symptoms just the smelly wee in the AM.
GP did another dip test in my second sample by then I was well hydrated and wee looked fine - results showed nothing!
At 11 week midwife appt my urine was sent to MSU and they detected E. coli so I was put on a course of antibiotics.
I’m a bit worried as midwife made it sound super urgent and the GP told me there’s nothing to worry about.. what should I do? Thank you :)
