Hi all, I wondered if anyone else has experienced multiple inconclusive NIPTs? What happened next? Here's my timeline:
12th May: Went for a private scan + Harmony NIPT test at (what I thought) to be 11+5 however I was measuring ahead by 6 days. Certain of my dates so think baby must be long. Scan goes well however obviously not as detailed as NHS scan, sonographer says fluid behind neck "looks nice and thin" but measurement not logged as part of this scan. Blood test came back inconclusive. I started on aspirin that evening as midwife advised from 12 weeks (previous pre-eclampsia), so figured if I'm measuring over 12 weeks at this point I may aswell start.
24th May: NHS 12-week scan, however I'm measuring 14 weeks so nuchal translucency measurement cannot be taken, referred for quad testing.
27th May: Blood redraw for private Harmony NIPT test. Blood test came back inconclusive again.
3rd June: Call from NHS midwife, my quad test results puts me at 1/139 risk for Downs, increased risk so referred for NIPT on the NHS.
4th June: First NIPT on the NHS, blood test came back inconclusive.
15th June: NIPT on NHS blood redraw, decided not to take my aspirin the night before as read blood thinners can increase inconclusive chances. I was off them for 37 hours when blood was drawn, have since read it takes approx. 96 hours for blood to stop being totally thin from the aspirin. Blood test came back inconclusive (just had the call now -- scheduled me in to see consultant on Monday to discuss amniocentesis test).
21st June: Third blood redraw for private Harmony test, I didn't go back on the aspirin after 14th as knew I would re-do the private Harmony NIPT. So had no blood thinners at all in my system by then. Went back on them after blood taken. Had it 2 days ago, awaiting results now.
My BMI is 34, so I know this in combination with the aspirin could be influencing results so far. I'm thinking of booking the NIPT Safe test which can apparently detect foetal fraction at a lower percentage level, however I guess I should wait to hear what a) the consultant says on Monday, and b) if I get any result from the third private blood redraw where I had no aspirin in me at all.
Sick with worry, due to start a new job on 6th July. Praying I will have answers soon.
