High bHCG

I've just got my screening results for chromosomal abnormalities and its come back as a 1:170 chance of downs syndrome. I know logically there is a 99.5% chance my baby is fine but my last pregnancy my ratio was 1:100,000 so I'm booking an NIPT test regardless for peace of mind.

I've obviously been googling like crazy and it seems the higher risk result is probably due to my maternal age (34) and the bHCG result which came back as 9.58 MoM... I think this is crazy high isnt it? My PAPP-A was 1.87 and NT 1.8 which from what I have read are within normal range.

Why is my bHCG so high, ive been reading and other womens "high" results were less than half of mine.

Can anyone share their experience? X

Mine was high on their dates, but not on mine. My baby did not have DS.

Just an update if anyone stumbles upon this and worried about high hcg. My NIPT came back as very low risk, also the screening midwife couldn't have been less bothered when I called to discuss after i got my ratio back.
