Hello, .
update:
I don’t even know where to start but this is my story so far. I finally got pregnant after 4 years of trying, 2 ectopics, 1 chemical, 5 failed IVF transfers (6th transfer was last embryo) I had a scan at 10 weeks due to a haemorrhage and all was okay. I genuinely thought that I might be finally okay. Then at my 12 weeks a scan I get told that there are facial defects that are concerning. I then have all the tests etc. and have to see a fetal medicine consultant . I am advised that in her opinion it’s Edwards or platue, but the tests come back negative. I had another appointment where they tell me they are doing further genetic testing and will rescan me at 16 weeks (currently 14 weeks). However my case has been discussed at the serious case review meeting and although remains undiagnosed I am told that in their opinion it’s something serious and they do not think the baby will be compatible with life. They support a medical termination or I can wait until 16 weeks and the further tests to come back. I am going to wait but this is horrendous, I really feel like I’m delaying the inevitable but can’t make a decision until I have more facts. Any similar situations x

Oh love, how unfair and how tough for you. Just sending a hug, and wishing I could be more helpful.

@SunshineandSangria thank you ❤️ it’s the waiting and not knowing that’s just impossible.

I expect you've heard about the charity Antenatal Results and Choices - https://www.arc-uk.org/ - I think they have a phone line. Maybe they'd be good to talk to? I think their core mission is supporting people faced with worrying preliminary results.
I lost 3 babies to miscarriage at around 12 weeks. Before it happened to me I thought I'd be matter-of-fact about it, but I was not, not at all. We can't ever know how we'll feel until we get into a situation. It helped when other women talked about their own experiences because it gave me permission to feel what I was feeling.
No help to you I know, but I know one brave woman who had 7 babies who couldn't stay, before her daughter who did. Some women really do go through the mill to be mothers 😓
Thinking of you.

Wanted to give you a bit of a positive story. With my first born they suspected trisomy 13 or 18. They delivered him 8 weeks early. They told me he’d be stillborn etc. he came out peeing 🤣. So that ruled out trisomy 13 straight away. We were in nicu for just over a month. He had a cleft lip and palate and 7 holes in his heart brain abnormalities, eye conditions etc. he is 10 now and has autism with a mild intellectual disability. No syndrome. !!!! He’s homeschooled and thriving. Where there’s life there hope.
