Possible HLHS

Our 20 week scan showed small left ventricle and only two vessels out of three. We won’t hear anything about our next scan until Tuesday. Absolutely gutted though knew on some level things weren’t right this pregnancy. Hoping to hear others experiences.

We were told our baby might have hlhs at 13 weeks. We were referred to Great Ormond Street and found that she doesn't have hlhs but does have a heart condition that will require surgery within the first few months.
It's been a very stressful pregnancy but hoping for the best outcome.
Have you been referred to a fetal cardiac specialist?

Thank you for replying, you’ve given me some hope too. I thought hlhs was the only probable diagnosis.

They referred us to the fetal medicine team but we won’t hear anything yet because of the Easter break. I don’t think it’s specifically cardiology either. It feels like forever with so many questions!

Where in the country are you located?
We were told possible hlhs at 13 weeks which is really too early to see anything definite. But even since 20 weeks the probable diagnosis has changed from avsd to vsd and dorv.
Hope you get some answers soon. This really is so hard!

Hi @BabyHeartAche , how are you doing? Have you been seen by fetal medicine yet? My baby was found to have a heart defect during pregnancy and the waiting for answers was so hard and I remember how worried and anxious I felt so I do feel for you. Hope you are okay.
