Has anyone else had a CVS with twins?

I’m pregnant for the first time and have found out, much to my shock, that it’s twins!

Unfortunately I’m a carrier for a fatal genetic disease (Duchennes) and from the gender blood test we know at least one of them is a boy - which means the CVS is the next step, and it’s 50/50 we can keep them (or one!). It’s death by a thousand cuts, I feel like I’m going insane torturing myself over possible outcomes, and I have two weeks to go to the test even happens, then another two till the results.

Has anybody else experienced CVS with two babies? What can I expect? We don’t know yet if they share a placenta - should that make a difference?

Hey I’ve just come across your post….I too am a carrier of a genetic condition which has a 50/50 chance of being passed on but is not specific to a gender. I have had multiple CVS and amnios as have been pregnant quite a few times but never with twins. So unfortunately I can’t help in that respect but didn’t want to see your message go unanswered. The wait for the results is awful so I really do hope the next few weeks go quick for you

Not exactly what you asked but I had an amniocentesis with twins. They're 6 now but If you want to ask anything feel free to DM me x

I tried to have CVS with twins (DH a carrier for a 50/50 condition), but they couldn't reach both placentas and so we had to wait for amnio

Good luck!!

Also - I really feel for you. The process is torture.

The amnio results for our twins were ok, but then I lost them through unconnected premature birth.

We ultimately went for PGD IVF and I am now cuddling my second baby while DC1 sleeps upstairs.

Sending you hugs OP.
