Quality issue with harmony test

Looking for reassurance I guess.. had the harmony / NIPT at 10+5 (same gestation as my previous daughter) and I received an email saying that 'the sample has not passed quality performance metrics'. I'm not sure if this is the same as insufficient Fetal DNA and am feeling concerned that this is indicative of further issues.

They're testing my second vial of blood. But I suppose if that fails again then I'll be invited in for a redraw. I'm already 13 weeks so feeling anxious about a potential problem not being spotted until 15 weeks.

Has anyone been through this before?

Interested in the answer to this too as had the exact same email through yesterday about my Harmony Test results

@Rainbow1608 out of interest which company did you do it through? I enquired further and they said it was insufficient fetal dna and so I have a redraw next week

I went through The GP Surgery at the Fulham clinic in London - www.thegpsurgery.co.uk

I have gone back to enquire if it’s the quality of the sample - has it been spoiled / contaminated or if it was that there wasn’t enough fetal DNA and they haven’t come back. I’m nervous now after some late night googling as on blood thinners for preeclampsia risk and they say this can be a cause…

Hopefully after your redraw all will be ok and it will be smooth sailing!

@Rainbow1608 thank you! Good luck with yours too! For a test meant to reassure it isn't very reassuring ha

I had the same thing happen! Mine was done through ultrasound direct and sent to the doctors laboratory (tdl.) I wasn’t given any other information other than it failed quality control checks! Still waiting for the results of my re- draw. Did you end up getting results?

@Saveitforarainyday97 the second redraw was fine! And scans etc all good... so bloody annoying but one of those things!

Just found out today that my second draw was also inconclusive😩. They won’t do any more tests so my options are just leave it at that or find a different company that might work this time!

You poor thing! I definitely wouldn’t opt
to get the test again if I had another baby! My second draw was sent back but not inconclusive as not enough blood so going for a third one on Wednesday but I suspect it will be inconclusive again! Overall been a terrible experience considering the £££!

I agree - I kind of wish I never bothered now. It was meant to relieve some anxiety but instead it’s just given me so much extra stress. My midwife has contacted the nhs screening team to see what they advise. Hopefully it’ll be third time lucky for you!
