Hi everyone.
I'm 36 weeks today and this is my second baby.
My first was 6lb 6 and at my 20wk scan this time, they were worried about her size, but said due to my first being small, they weren't worried and predicted this one would be 5lb10-6lb3.

When i went for my usual midwife check she measured twice as i have a 3cm accelerated growth and need to go for a scan. Does this usually happen in small babies?
I've been tested for diabetes already and came back clear, so I'm not sure what other reason the accelerated growth could be for. Have to wait until Wednesday for the scan

Instead of actual baby growth it could be an increase in amniotic fluid.

I haven’t experienced that, but a scan will tell you. You’re close to them and it also looks like s not a serious issue, don’t worry too much, hope you have your scan soon.

I had to have repeated growth scans due to measuring small in my first pregnancy then at about the same stage as you needed a further two scans for measuring big! He came out at a totally normal 7lbs 6 Oz. I think my bump must have “popped” out at a certain stage. We had a LOT of scans for him overall and he was totally fine. Wishing you luck. Not long until you get to meet baby now!!

So i had the growth scan yesterday and it turns out there is no accelerated growth, but actually she isn't growing enough (unsure if it's her or my placenta causing a problem), so they are going to induce me next Friday.
They believe she will be better off coming out sooner rather than later, so looks like we're meeting her 2 weeks early

Good luck got Friday, hope you have an easy induction. 2 weeks early is ok, many babies come at this time anyway on their own.

if you can, go for long walks before it, it might help. I know women, including my sister, who swear by it, it gets the labour started (she’s done it 3 times!). Will make induction much easier or not needed if your labour starts before.
