Private scan - overweight

Hi
im 6 weeks pregnant and I want to get the whole experience! I know it’s a while away yet but I want to be able to get a private scan when I’m further along (mainly because I want to announce at Xmas and I’ll be 12 weeks on Xmas eve, not sure I’ll get an NHS before). Anyway….

I am overweight and I know this will have an impact on scan quality but can anyone advise of any companies that are pleasant with scans when you’re overweight?

I’ve had a LONG history of disordered eating and haven’t ever been as healthy in my life as I am now I know the food is for the baby to grow! I can’t chance being back in a negative mental state and I feel like a few condescending comments will undo all the good I’ve done

I'm overweight and never had an issue with scan quality. I've had quite a few this pregnancy both private and NHS and my weight hasn't been an issue. Just be aware that before a certain date (either 9w or 10 I can't remember) they will advise a vaginal scan as it's clearer to see (you don't have to agree obviously but they will say they are more likely to be able to see internally at an early stage. This is regardless of weight). My private scans were window to the womb x

Thank you so much you’ve put my mind at ease. I’ve been looking at window to the womb website but was really worried they would see my size and send me away. I’ll be happy with any scan if it checks baby is healthy!

@Nowindows91 they won't send you away! Honestly I wouldn't worry. My BMI is 30 so on the brink between overweight and obese and no one has even mentioned it ❤️

Thank you ❤️
