Hi everyone Im 40 years old and pregnant following a miscarriage in April this year. I went for my 12 week scan and they saw some fluid along the spine and a small bit in the abdomen. They also thought the chin was a little small. The view was suboptimal. Baby was kicking around and NT was within range at 2.9mm. She really struggled to get the readings as the baby was all scrunched up. They also did bloods which came back as 1 in 5 chance for Edwards and Patau. Obviously Im absolutely freaking out. I have a CVS and scan booked for the morning. Has anyone else had these issues and turned out ok?? Thanks 🙏

Essentially there's an 80% chance baby hasn't got Edward's.

Still a significant risk but not all hope lost. I wish you strength regardless of what the results are.

Good luck

I was just diagnosed with Edwards but with different symptoms ( issues with the hands, feet, kidneys). I don't have an answer for you but wanted to wish you the best. CVS was not as painful/uncomfortable as I expected and they do an extensive scan before. In the scan before we found out that it did not look promising, but if yours looked ok you might get early hopeful news. Best of luck, particularly through the long wait ahead.
