Hi
I'm just after some help, I don't know what to do, and I can't find anyone seemingly with such a shopping list of issues ☹️ we're finally pregnant after 3 rounds of ivf and now this, I didn't think life could be so cruel...
High NT 4.9mm
Slightly strawberry shaped head
Short arms with fused joints
Intestine coming out of stomach
Potential skeletal dysplasia
Severe fetal hydrops all around head and body and lungs
No nasal bone

So there's a lot going on and as much as it breaks my heart I think I know what we need to do but clutching at straws for positive outcomes
X

Are you being sent for more investigations ?
Im sorry, but it doesn’t sound good with what you have written 💐

I’m so sorry, please take the time to take in all information. Ask about additional tests and speak to your consultant.

If you want to cry down the phone and just tell someone how rubbish it all is please call ARC. They are a charity that deal with this daily, they are amazing and I had health issues my myself (not the baby), and had the make a choice around TFMR.

It must be so awful for you at the moment. Getting this news is so difficult. Do you have a midwife / consultant appointment booked to talk you through these results? I hope things work out for you x

I’m so sorry that you are going through this, I can only imagine how difficult this must be. What did the Dr recommend? I’m no expert so have no advice but behind to yourself and give yourself some time to think about this. I would also try not to ask too many people their opinions on what you should do as that could cloud your own thinking. You and your partner should have a talk and discuss this over the next few days.

I second contacting ARC, they are just amazing. It is heartbreaking to those of us who have had to go through this. Do take your time to process all the information you are being given. It is a terrible shock, I know.

Thank you all so much for your kind words, I spoke to someone at ARC this morning and they were lovely but gave it to me straight that from their experience it didn't look good 😔

I had good advice from all the doctors we saw and they didn't rush us towards any decision. Please be very gentle with yourself over the weekend and I hope you have kind people around you. I am sorry that you are going through this but you are not alone.

MarmiteCoriander · 09/09/2022 16:57

I'm so sorry OP. You are not alone and this wasn't your fault. 🌹

After 4yrs TTC, I finally got pregnant. I had NIPT at 11 weeks which showed patau syndrome. After further testing, we chose TRMF. If you have any questions, or want to contact me via private chat, please feel free to.

I'm so sorry OP. I'm so devastated for you. I hope you have lots of support around you. I had to make the decision to TFMR after my 20 week scan for my first pregnancy so further along than you. It's an impossible situation to be in and a decision no one should have to make.

12 week scan - no nasal bone
i had my scan at 12 weeks and they have found issues with no nasal bone and the irregular nasal tissue resulting in facial defects.
I am awaiting my harmony results and to see a fetal medicine consultant and cardiologist.

i know this this is not good and would like to hear if anyone has had any similar experiences ?
