Combined Screening - high risk of Downs Syndrome, confused

Hello all, I just received results from my combined screening its come back at 1/84 chance of downs.

I am really shocked and I have some questions that I didnt ask at the time because I was quite upset and not thinking straight.

To give you information
I am 34 and conceived via IVF, I was 13 weeks when I did the combined screening test.
Results were:
HCGb 1.61 ng/mL
PAPP-A 0.53 mU/L
NT 1.5 mm
Non smoker, ethnicity is down as other (Im mixed race) high bmi of 117kg.

My question really is, does any one know what the normal ranges are for HCG/PAPP-a? I understand that NT should be under 3mm which our is. I cant work out what has pushed us into such a high range and am super worried.

Waiting for the NIPT test results, but time seems to had stopped while I wait...

So sorry your having to go through this at the moment and the wait you have for the NIPT.

our screening widwife told me anything over 1 ok HCG is considered a ‘concern’ and anything under 0.5 for Pappa A

My understanding is 1.0 MoM represents the average. Looking at your results, you would read it as b-HCG is a bit higher than average, your PAPP-A is a bit lower than average and your NT is a bit higher again, but none alarmingly so on their own. Hope that helps a bit.

My friend was 1 in 3 and her baby was born without issues.

How long until your due the results back ? Are the sending you to fetal medicine for any further scans?

the wait is crippling and I fully sympathise with you. I decided staying off my phone away from forums and social media beneficial for me . Me and my husband would sit and play scabble in the evenings

Thank you...

I called the hospital again today to check if the result had come in, and they said tomorrow at the very earliest.... Husband works away Mon-Fri, so im home alone this week trying everything to distract myself. I woke up at 4am this morning just wide awake thinking about all the what ifs, it doesnt help that im still suffering peak nausea and symptoms, so I feel super delicate right now. Just praying to be put out of my mistery tomorrow hopefully!

We have an ivf pregnancy and i thought waiting for those results was bad!

I'm waiting for results too OP... They said 1 in 78 chance for me. I'm really trying to put it put of my mind, and DP and I have talked a lot about what we would do if it comes back high risk and then an amnio shows DS. That has really helped me...
Hugs to you. The waiting is horrible isn't it.
