What were your downsyndrome risks?

My downsyndrome risk is 1/500 at age 19.It was considered low risk because the cutoff is like 1/200 or 1/300, but I still can’t help but worry that I’ll give birth and the doctors will say she has downsyndrome.I’ve read stories where people with a similar risk as mine ended up giving birth to a downsyndrome child..I also can’t afford the nipt sadly.Im 23 weeks now. What were your guys downsyndrome risks at your screening?I just need some reassurance…

Mine was 1:28 I was 44 at the time. I was offered NIPT or an amnio, I went straight for the amnio and baby was fine.

Mine was 1/1200.
My friend's was 1/2500 and her baby was born with Downs syndrome. It was a shock at the time but the baby is a lovely thriving 6 year old now and they couldn't be happier.

I'd say that was low risk @19andhighrisk too.

When you say that you've read stories of Women with similar risks having a DC with Down's Syndrome, were the Women of a similar age to you?

If the worry is getting too much, I'd talk to your MW about your concerns Flowers

This is what I’m terrified of.Because mines 1/500..I just can’t take care of a downsyndrome baby at 19.

My baby was 1 in 780. I'm 33. I was terrified of an undiagnosed downs baby I'll be honest. He was born this week and he doesn't have downs.

I was 1 in 60 at 34, so offered amnio which decided to have. Dd is 26 and does not have DS
