Hi all. I had a phone call from screening center about my blood tests at scan and my World is crumbling around me. 1 in 1800 DS but 1 in 5 chance ED or P. NT was good at 2 !
Been referred to Sheffield hospital for a CVS and just after some advice.

  1. What is the procedure like?
  2. Success stories
  3. Time scale
How long after been referred did you get a phone call from hospital with appointment and how long for results.

Thanks in advance very nervous and upset all I wanna do is curl up and cry!

Hi @Harmony28 so sorry you’re going through this, it’s a very difficult process and hope you are managing to look after yourself as much as possible.

We had a very high nuchal measurement at the 12 week scan (9mm). They may have noticed other issues at that point but they didn’t mention. We were then referred to foetal medicine where we had a more detailed scan. This confirmed the NT measurement and the doctor also said there were other markers that suggested an abnormality such as heart development issues, and one marker specifically related to Edwards which was that the hands were very still. We had a CVS to confirm the findings.

I hope that helps and happy to share more info about any of the stages if that helps at all. Sending lots of love and strength to you.
