Hello, I'm not really sure where to go here. Except to admit I'm really terrified and I can't hold it in and anxiously wait anymore! I went to my 12 week scan and actually measured ahead two days at 12.5! However after getting my blood results back I'm shocked and upset to be told I have a 1/36 chance of my baby having downs. Im only 20 and I'm terrified it makes sound like such a bad person to feel this way. My bloods are as follows.
HCG- 3.26 MoM (high)
PAPP-A 0.84 (normal but a tiny bit low)
NT- 3mm (on the higher side of normal but baby wouldn't stay neutral)
Risk for everything else was 1/100000
I've had an NIPT test done on Friday so I know I'll hear back this week which is probably making it so stressful for me! I know there are many more threads on this but they all seem older so I'm wondering if anyone had a similar result recently and all turned out ok? I will be updating regardless. Thank you sorry this is long but I just can't cope with it anymore.

Sorry I can’t tell you anything about those results but when we had a difficult ante-natal test result, these people were brilliant in terms of talking things through:

It’s the only time I’ve ever called a helpline and I was pretty upset but they were great - calm, knowledgeable and kind. They really helped us to understand and consider the numbers. I think their lines re-open at 10am tomorrow.

Years ago I had an amniocentesis done because I was an older prima gravida. It set my mind at rest and the risk was minute. Can you get an amnio?

This is my scan, it's actually the picture she used to measure my NT well this and another. I don't actually think it looks to bad? I see a nasal bone.. and she said that it wasn't too clear but she'd have to go with her findings. Baby just wouldn't budge! And the scan was very quick! About 10 mins! Don't know if I'm desperate and perhaps clutching at straws here which I definitely could be of course!

@merrymelodies I can, but I'm too early currently. So I've gone with the NIPT as it's 99.9% accurate. And if that shows high I'll go for the amino, thing is I've had chemo before so this baby is quite a miracle after a few losses so quite hesitant even though the risks are soooo tiny!

You are welcome - I hope they help you understand the stats at least. So sorry you are going through this on top of what sounds like a difficult time. Flowers

@Grumpysister thank you! Yes Its not been easy! But hoping for good news. I don't feel as if anything is wrong which is the most confusing part sometimes! But most stories I've read end in a good result. Just hoping I'll be one to finally receive some good news for once! Not to say a Down Syndrome baby isn't good news. It's just a touch pill to swallow when it really does come out of no where!
