NIPT and screening testing

Hey all!
We have recently had our screening results back which states the stats of a 1:62 chance of baby having downs.. we know that it's 98.6% that baby doesn't and 1.4% baby does so we opted for the NIPT testing which should be back this week or next!
I was wondering if anyone has any similar stories?
We are so worried and anxious for the reason of my baby being ok and I want to protect them at all costs 💖🤞🏼

Hi I don't have any reassurance but I'm in a similar position. Had a phone call today and mine came out as 1:92 for downs. I am 34 so not too old and NT measurement was 1.5 so not high. I'm panicking so much. I'm having an NIPT but they can't get me in until Tuesday, the waiting and worrying is awful! Hope your OK, please let me know how you get on.xx

Aw honestly I feel you hun, I'm 26 so really didn't think I would worry but I haven't slept much this week at all! Hopefully results are back tomorrow as they got sent Monday!
Hopefully all is well and can begin to relax and enjoy it all 🥺💕 sending lots of hope to you too xx

We are so worried and anxious for the reason of my baby being ok and I want to protect them at all costs why would your baby not be ok? What do you want to protect them from exactly. Did you miss something in your post about trisomy’s that are incompatible with life?

So I had a 1:51 chance and opted for the NIPT test and they came back as very low risk, they even told me the gender. I now have a gorgeous 6 month old.

It's a really anxious time but try not to stress because as you've said they actual percentages are actually very low

I had a loss back in September after being told my baby had a chance at surviving and sadly that wasn't the case and my little boy passed away.. so this exactly why I am anxious and scared.

When I was 39 my chance came back as 1:49. Had the Harmony test and scan as soon as I could. All was fine. I know someone who had a 1:2 chance and the baby was fine. Wishing you all the best as it’s such an anxious wait x

This is really reassuring to hear as well! I'm so glad everything worked out well for you! X

I had a 1:62 risk of Downs syndrome with my son. Like you I decided on the NIPT rather than the amniocentesis. My risk came back low on the NIPT and I left it at that. My son was born and does not have Down syndrome. I understand my risk was due to my age (33) a low papp A score (under 0.3) and a slightly higher NT.

I know it's a very worrying time but hopefully you will have the results soon xx

I just wanted to update you all on the news today that my chance came back very very low and we are leaving baby to it now! No more testing just to grow happily and healthily ❤️
Thank you all for your kind words and stories which has helped me so much! Sending so much love to you all xxx

Hi guys,

I had my nuchal combined test back in December last year which came back high risk for Down syndrome (1:186) chance, we had already had a NIPT a test prior to the which came back low risk so when we went to see a specialist he was not too concerned about the nt combined results and didnt recommend any further scanning.

NT: 3mm
heart beat 157 bpm
pap-a 1.458 mom
beta hcg 2.906 mom

my due date is now approaching and I am starting to get really anxious about if the NIPT was accurate. All of our scans since have been gone and we haven’t been notified of any problems. I think I am just stressing as it is getting closer
