Hi everyone, it's my first post so hopefully I am doing it right.
Does anyone on here have any experience of pre-implantation screening for inheritable diseases?
I recently found out that I am at a high risk of a genetic mutation that causes motor neurone disease. I have no real wish to find out if I have this gene myself (I think I'd spend every waking day worried if I did) but I'm exploring pre-implantation screening on the NHS because I don't wish to pass on such a gene to a child. Apparently it is possible to have the screening without first finding out my own genetic status.
We were planning to TTC in the next six months and the whole thing has come a complete shock.
I hoped that maybe someone else on here might have some advice or tell me how it all goes?
