Hi,
I got my first trimester screening report and got alarmed at the outcome. I’m 31 years old, this is my first pregnancy.

I will meet with my midwife this Friday to talk through the findings but I can’t help being a nervous wreck.

What do you think of these?
CRL 57.8
NT 2.4
Free b-hcg 2.447 mom
Papp-a 2.257 mom

Everything seems to me so elevated and it makes me worried.

Hello. Sorry you are feeling anxious. A lot of women on here will know exactly how you feel including me.

Have you been classed as high risk? I have had a high risk pregnancy and 2 low risk pregnancies. So know all the feels!

I have done A LOT of research on blood numbers and NT measurements (i am no doctor) and I what i would say its a big picture. Your numbers are high yes but they are in proportion ie they are both very similar. From what i understand that is very important. When they get worried is when there is a big variance. E.g for down syndrome its likely that there will be a high hcg with a low papp a.

Secondly, your NT is completely within normal range. To put it in perspective my unhealthy pregnancy had an NT of 4.9mm- yours is half that.

Your midwife will tell you all this and try and calm your nerves, my current pregnancy my numbers were on the low end but with a normal NT measurement. NHS told me all was fine but i was still extremely unhappy so i had a private NIPT done, which came back low risk as well and massively calmed me down.

I hope you get the answers you need and enjoy your pregnancy :)

@rosed1008 Hi! Thank you for your long and thorough reply. It did calm me down. It's my first pregnancy and everything is so new, I'm expecting that everything has to be 100% and any kind of diversion is end of the earth. My brain knows better, but my heart and emotsions are all over the place.

I really hope that that's that case with me, that since everything is a bit elevated, it all will work out in the end. I will meet my midwife this Friday and see what she says. Fingers crossed!

Those values are almost identical to mine (I was 33). I was classified as high risk but all tests came back clear and DD is very healthy and bright.

@waterbottle123 I am so happy to hear that everything worked out well for you and your DD. :) I don't know for sure, but I have a gut feeling that I'm also expecting a daughter.
