HCG after tfmr

Just wondered for those who have sadly suffered a tfmr, how long did it take for you to stop getting bfp? It's coming up to 2 weeks and still getting quite an obvious line 😞 is that normal or should I contact the midwife? Don't want to have to go back into the hospital if not necessary

Surgical or medical?

Surgical it should be within 2-3 weeks. Mine was about 2 1/2 weeks i think.

Medical it could take a while longer, however if its still pretty strong after 4-6 weeks it could be its not complete so you would need to go back.

Ergh that postive test is really a kick in the teeth isnt it. Im so sorry I hope you are doing ok. X

Hi @rosed1008 sorry I should have said it was medical at 12 weeks. Yeah it really is depressing seeing those 2 lines still 😞 will give it another week and see, it is lighter than last week but still not faint

@Bellesjp I'm sorry 😢

With one of my miscarriages i didnt get a negative for nearly 2 months! Good luck I hope it fades soon x

@rosed1008 gosh sorry that's such a long time 😞 can I ask if you had a period before hcg went back to negative or does that not happen until after?

@Bellesjp so with my surgical tfmr i had a faint postive 2 weeks after the procedure then a negative a few days later and i think my body immediately ovulated because i found out i was pregnant again 2 weeks later! 🙈

With my miscarriage i had random bleeds but I dont think I had a "proper" period until it was negative. It was such a frustrating time, and i was so adverse with going back to hospital i waited it out. I did find a study which said that women won't ovulate until hcg is below 30... so you could ovulate/have a period whilst getting faint positives I guess.

@rosed1008 Thankyou for sharing, I'll give it another week and see 🤞🏼

I had a miscarriage a couple of years ago and af came back about a month later but I can't remember testing to see how long it was until I got bfn so don't know how long it took!
