Combined screening compared to NIPT

Hi,

I had an NT of 4.1 at my 12 week scan and the next day went privately for NIPT. Just wondered if anyone has ever had high risk for combined screening but low risk NIPT. Looking for some hope!

Thank you

Hi kpo2022, I was given really high risk NHS screening, 1:7 for Down syndrome, 1:100 for edwards. Went privately for an NIPT and everything came back really low risk, like one in seven billion chance of all three. There is hope and I think the NHS tests are a bit over cautious. My NT was 5.4 at 13 weeks. Hope this helps

thank you for taking the time to reply! I had NIPT privately last week so waiting for both sets of results and trying to prepare myself for the worst for the NHS ones! As I've heard they aren't that accurate. Have you had your baby yet? X

I also decided to go down the route of an amnio at 16 weeks as I had other issues to do with rare family genetics, so I confirmed that nothing was wrong with baby. All scans have been clear too. Baby due any day. Good luck 🤞

I had a 1 in 5 risk of downs and a 1 in 89 of pataus and edwards from the combined screening. NT was 2.7, papp a 0.22 and hcg 1.04.

Nipt was done through the NHS and came back low risk for all 3. Now 19 weeks and baby seemed to be doing well in a private 16 week scan. Anxious for the 20 week scan next week but hopefully all will be fine!

I got my NHS results back at 1/30 downs 1/730 edwards then a few hours later got NIPT results back all at very low risk 1/10,000.

Now we have to hope the heart scan comes back okay in a few weeks!

Thanks ladies for your help
