Cervical scan

Hi everyone,

I had a lletz operation to remove cervical cancer cells a few years ago. I am currently 12 weeks and my midwife has referred me to the fetal medicine unit to measure my cervix. It will be one day after my 20 week scan.

Is this something to worry about? I'm not sure what to think or whether to be worried or not.

Also has anyone has this scan before?

Thank you in advance

Hi, this is common for anyone who had any work done on cervix (or section at full dilation). Its a transvaginal scan and they make sure that you dont have incompetent cervix. Its really standard.

Yea, really standard and nothing to worry about. They’ll check the length of the cervix to make sure it’s not too short and then give you advice / treatment or regular scans if it’s on the shorter side.
