How long for screening results?

I have a 4 year old son, and after his screening tests we got the high risk phone call in 2 days. I’m now 40, and very much expecting that call again.

My 12 week scan (at13+5) was on 24th Feb, and I’m wondering how long it’s taken for people to receive results by letter / call lately? I’ve assumed things are taking longer due to covid, but I really just want to know if we’re going down the further tests route again.

@Bobbyelvis4ever I cannot say for definite but it is usually a good sign to hear nothing. I didn’t hear anything with my first pregnancy. I got a letter two weeks later saying I was low risk. With my second pregnancy, I was high risk and received “the call” 4 working days after the ultrasound.

Generally no news is good news. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you as I know it is so anxiety provoking having to wait.

I think most trusts contact you within 2 weeks by letter if everything is fine and tend to call you much sooner if results are high risk

We got told a phone call within a week if anything concerning showed and a letter in 2-3 weeks if the results said low chance of the trisomies tested for. Our letter landed exactly a week after the appointment.

Just in case anyone else is wondering - letter back today, and not high risk. It was printed on 26th Feb, so actually took 8 days to get to us, which is less than ideal!

Great news, you must feel relieved. Although shame about the delay given date on the letter.
