Hi everyone, I’m due to go in for a cvs test tomorrow as our risk came back as 1:4 😢 just wondering if anybody has any advice? I’m absolutely petrified that I will lose our little one as we have waited so long for them!

@Sweetlittlepea hello I am sorry you are going through this atm. I didn’t have CVS but I had Amnio 2 weeks ago. My screening test came back 1:14 for Downs and 1:15 for Edwards. I am 37 years old. Pappa was very low and NT was 2.5 The procedure wasn’t too painful, rather uncomfortable but very quick. I couldn’t look at the needle. I had it done on Tuesday and the midwife called me on Thursday morning to let me know all came back clear. Good luck, keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

I had CVS yesterday at a major hospital, it was totally painless although I jumped a little when the needle went through my muscles, it was automatic and I didnt actually feel anything.

Afterwards I had some cramping and was a little achy.

Today at 5pm they rang to tell me that the fast track results came in clear for the big 3 and we are having a girl!

My combined screening came out at 1:30 for Downs 1:34 edwards/pataus

I had low hcg and pappa a and a NT of 3.6.

I am so grateful to the NHS and big G upstairs on his cloud because the last 2 weeks have been the worst of my life.

Il give you the advice I wish I had read before yesterday,

It doesn't hurt, try to relax your body and trust in the experts. Every moment at a time and look after yourself.

Good luck mama, you've got this!

@Sweetlittlepea hope the CVS went ok. I had one last week because of my age and a high NT measurement. Thinking of you, these last few weeks have been incredibly hard and I really feel for you.

Sorry...fat fingers!!
@Sweetlittlepea sorry you’ve gone through such a lot of stress and hope the CVS wasn’t too painful, but please try not to worry. Having a baby with Down’s syndrome is a slightly different journey but it’s an amazing one. My superstar with an extra chromosome is now 5 and having a whale of a time in mainstream school. The very best of wishes and take care...
