Just wondering whether anyone else has had a high HGCb after having methatrexate a few Months earlier? I had ectopic in May and I am 13 weeks pregnant now and been given a 1 in 5 Chance of downs. NT 2.3, pappa 0.6 but HGCb 4.2. Had harmony bloods done today - waiting for result. I have a uterine fibroid which one scanner said was large - another said nothing to worry about?

Hello@Ssandy52. I have high hcg and NT and low pappa. I’m waiting for my harmony results after being given a 1/29 chance of Downs Syndrome

Good luck! Did they say 7 to 10 days for you? Are you an older mum if you don’t mind me asking? I’m 42 so starting odds were 1 in 55.

@Ssandy52 yes I am 39. I was told the results would be up to 10 days but they hoped to get them back sooner.

Fingers crossed. The scanning lady was very reassuring about the fact that most come back clear. I’m just so glad there is a non invasive option!

My midwife wasn’t so optimistic, she said from my blood results the outcome could go either way

Ssandy52 · 17/11/2020 14:23

Oh dear! But your score isn’t that bad? I’ve seen 1 in 2s mentioned on here. I’m sure all will be fine. The screening seems to pick up so many ladies, there’s always other reasons why the levels may be out. I can understand why some people decline it.

I need to have some of your optimism @Ssandy52. I’ve been beside myself with worry with all this waiting.
I have everything crossed for you too :)

Ssandy52 · 17/11/2020 14:33

The not knowing is horrible isn’t it? I had a similar chance to yours in my last pregnancy and I didn’t even go for the harmony or any further tests and all was well!

Oh wow, that’s great news

Iknowblackcatsarelucky · 19/11/2020 15:27

Hi @Ssandy52today I feel like I’ve won the lottery, after the test we have been told our baby has a 1/10000 chance of having a problem. We can’t believe how lucky we are and are not quite sure why we deserve such good fortune compared to others. Now hopefully for a night with some sleep... thank you for all your support. I have my fingers crossed that you also get some good news x

Ssandy52 · 19/11/2020 15:52

That’s brilliant! Congratulations! I still can’t believe what your midwife said! How long did they take? I’m on day 4 xx

Ssandy52 · 24/11/2020 14:45

My results came in - evidence of downs. Hopefully it’s a false positive.

@Ssandy52, I’m so sorry. How are you? If that’s not a silly question

Ssandy52 · 24/11/2020 19:18

I feel ok really as there was also good news that she’s a girl (I have 3 boys). The tricky bit is that hubby is not so convinced about proceeding but I am. Thanks for asking xxx
