Hello, Has anyone received similar blood results in pregnancy ? 😭 I was given 1:15 chances for DS and 1:14 for Patau and Edwards syndrome. I am waiting for the results from Harmony test but completely lost my hope. I had a missed miscarriage in Feb this year. I am really worried I will lose this baby too
P.s I am 37 and 12 weeks pregnant x

Hi- I had a 1:18 for downs with high hgc and low pap a. I was 39 at the time of the test. I had the NIPT ( I same as harmony I think) and got back a 1: 1000000 result! I had already decided the baby had Down’s syndrome and was making decisions on what I should do. I’m 18 weeks now and all seems ok. It took 7 days for my results back. Do you know to expect yours? The waiting is complete torture.

@Booni I don’t have this experience but do have higher than normal NT measurements, and am in the same position re waiting to find out more about the baby’s chromosomal profile. I just wanted to send love and say don’t give up hope. I am holding onto the fact that the NT scan/blood tests are only screening tests, not diagnostic, and that the odds, whilst still higher than normal, are still at least not something like 50%. Please let us know how you go.

Hi @Booni I have literally just left hospital after having an amnio as I miscarried one twin at 8 weeks. I have 1:14 for DS and 1:23 for Edwards and pattau. I couldn’t have NIPT because of the lost twin. I had an NT of 2.9 but low Papp-a of 0.25. I’m 39. It’s a terribly worrying time and I’m
Keeping everything crossed for us both xx

@helsbells39 I am sorry for your loss Flowers Could you please let me know more about amnio? I am going to have CVS this week but do know both procedures are similar. Was it very painful? was your partner/ family member allowed in with you? It's a terribly worrying time. I am unable to concentrate/ work atm. How are you doing? I am also keeping everything crossed for both of us xxx

I had a Cvs With my first pregnancy as I was 1:26 DS but he was fine. The CVS can be done before 14 weeks and it’s a slightly wider needle that goes into your tummy and then a thinner needle goes down inside that and takes a sample from your placenta. The Amnio is just one needle that goes in a similar way but takes amniotic fluid from around the baby as well. Some people say the CVS was a little uncomfortable, I did find it painful but bearable - no worse than having a cannula put in my hand when I had my son! And it is done very quickly so definitely manageable. Yes my partner sat beside my head both times whilst I crushed his hand and cried like a baby. They’ve seen it all! I ended up telling work I couldn’t go in and have worked from home a bit (Tricky as I’m a key worker) but after the Amnio I will
Take three days sickness as you need lots of rest - take it easy, no lifting etc. Praying for both of us my lovely and here any time for you xx

I was in that place all day yesterday. The closer I got to results the worse I got as I couldn’t distance myself any longer. I had a call at 6 pm last night to get told all was ok and results were clear. But because of the low Papp-a I would need monthly growth scans. I see that as a good thing really as there’s so little face to face with a midwife I think I’ll find it reassuring.
How was the CVS for you? I hope you are taking it easy xx

Booni · 29/10/2020 19:45

@helsbells39 so happy for you. I am waiting for the harmony results first and then will have to have amnio anyway 😭 I am only 13 weeks atm. I have bad feelings 😭anyway good luck with everything and again so happy your results came back clear xx

Ah ok it’s such a long wait for those!! My first results came at 13 weeks and the wait felt endless to then get the amnio. I felt really low and bleak about the results this time too but it worked out ok Thank you, I will keep checking in with you as regardless of my results I’ve got everything crossed for you too xx

Booni · 29/10/2020 19:56
