Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone has had an elective C-section during this pandemic!? I was wondering how long you were in hospital? and if your birthing partner was allowed in?
Thanks

Not elective and not now. My son is 9 months old and I had to have an emergency C section at 32 weeks with him. They were trying to discharge me the very next day but obviously I told them to get lost because my son was in NICU. They usually try and discharge you as fast as they can if you are well. I very much doubt your partner will be allowed in with Covid19 pandemic though. Chances are zero

Yes I had one last week. My partner was allowed in surgery and recovery but had to leave when I was moved to the postnatal ward. I was discharged about 28 hours after surgery - they were trying to get everyone out as soon as possible (within reason). It was absolutely fine and the postnatal ward was much more bearable than when I had my first child as it was just mum's and their babies - no loud visitors coming and going etc. Best of luck!

I'm due my elective c section in next 2/3 weeks! I'll be 36 weeks on Friday! My understanding is partner can be with you until you get moved to postnatal Ward x my friend recently had one and was discharged the next day xx
