Amniocentesis results

Hi all,

Just wondering how long it took for your full amniocentesis results to come back?

I had an amniocentesis on Tuesday 17th (so this time last week) due to a severe deformity in my baby's right leg so they wanted to rule out any chromosomal causes

Luckily we got our Downs, Edwards + Patau results two days later on the Thursday all clear! And they said they'd ring with the other results which could take up to 2 weeks from the test, but I was just wondering how long your full results took? I'm just hoping it's abit earlier really!

The thought of having another week to go is driving me crazy especially in this lockdown with no proper distractions. I have anxiety anyway which doesn't help in these situations 😔

16 days for full array results.

I'm just worrying because I turn 24 weeks on Sunday so if something bad comes back positive it'll be even harder to make a decision and obviously it won't just be my choice😞 just such a stressful time. Thankyou

It’s agonising waiting for results. All our family were anxious. My daughter was 30 wks 3 days when she had the amniocentesis. Almost 33 wks when she got the results. If she hadn’t have gone for a private 3D scan (that posters scoff at and deride as a pointless ‘fashion’) she wouldn’t have known she was having a baby with problems requiring immediate surgery at birth. Her 12 wk and 20 wk scans were completely normal.

I had to wait 14 days in total for full results. X

Ended up getting them today! So 8 days after the test I was so shocked - all clear I'm so happy🥰
