Help please! Scan abnormalities...

I am 22weeks pregnant as of today.
I have found out my baby has brain abnormalities. They have named it as microcephaly and brachycephaly which I am not familiar but have read some stories about it. I had a Fetal MRI done waiting for the results and preparing for the worst as all I have heard is the worst. I have been told my daughter may have serve learning disability and may have problems with mobility. They have given me the option to have a termination. This is my first pregnancy and I am so scared all I want is my daughter to be healthy. Would you know what I would be expecting if I decided to continue with the pregnancy? Might the Fetal MRI shown something different? I would love to know if anyone has been through the same and what were the outcomes?

When do you get the results?

I think you need to wait and make an informed decision based on their advice and findings.

It is devastating, I lost my first baby (boy) to Anencephaly, which is a condition which is not compatible with life. I guess I'm that respect the decision had already been made for me.

Do not read Google, as hard as it is please wait for the professionals.

I am a specialist midwife working with families facing issues like this. My heart goes out to you. I will pm you.

The MRI will show if any of the brain looks abnormal rather than normal but just small (microcephaly means small brain) which will give a better idea about your child's future development. It can be hard to predict the outcome of brain abnormalities until the baby is here so the doctors will be giving you information on similar cases.

I am sorry to hear about your baby boy, hope you're coping well

I get a phone call on Tuesday and have a appointment on Thursday to discuss the findings.

It is extremely devastating, it hurts so much. I just don't want my daughter to suffer. They have already told me that parts of her brain has not formed properly and she could have severe disability. I am hoping the MRI shows something more promising although I know it won't.

Being 22 weeks and feeling her kicks get more stronger everyday is just breaking my heart knowing she's not well.

I have been that silly person that keeps reading up scary things on google I'll try to stop.

Thanks, I lost my little boy 10 years ago.
I am now a very proud Mummy to Boy/Girl twins who are amazing.

At the time I felt cheated, quilty, like it was some how my fault.

It's not, sometimes these things happen. It's devastating but once you get some advice with the help of the professionals, you'll get the correct answers and outcome.
