I am 3 weeks pregnant according to home pregnancy test and have had stomach and vaginal scan and no sign of gestational sac is this normal? Have had one blood test done to check harmones level and now have to wait another week to have it again so harmones levels can be compared. Freaking out just this wait of a week is so long someone else experienced this so please advice me.
Thank you 😊

Well 3 weeks is like implantation isn't it? I wouldn't expect to see anything yet. Why are up having scans this early on, are you expecting problems?

@Rani06 yes I had this with my first pregnancy, mine wasn't a good outcome I'm sorry Sad. I was diagnosed with a PUL. When was your last AF not pregnancy test as this will be inaccurate especially if your suspected to have a PUL.

For me I was 5 weeks and started to bleed, so went along to the GP thinking I had a miscarriage. But my HCG levels were up so off I was sent to the EPU. This was followed by weeks of blood tests ever few days, they were climbing but not high enough to be considered dangerous if the pregnancy was in the tube. They didn't find there it was growing but my Hcg didn't get much higher than 300. After weeks of this they gave me a methotrexate injection to end the pregnancy as it was not considered viable (about 8 weeks after LMP so the scan would have picked up a heartbeat by then if it was).

It's a horrible thing to go through, I found forums on here and Tommy's to be really helpful. I hope you have better luck than me Thanks

Yes my daughter had a PUL. She was scanned at 5 weeks (period 1 week late), sac seen but no baby. As no foetus seen she was confusingly (to us) treated as PUL. HCG was rising but not doubling. She miscarried at 8 weeks on the day she was due to go in to have the injection.

It's still early days for you, I've read similar threads on here where everything's turned out fine at later scans.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and sharing their experiences.

So just a little bit more to the story, My last periods was on 20th of nov and my first home test was taken on the 3rd december which was a random one as I was having pains in my stomach like light cramps and light spotting. I then waited a while until I spoke to a private GP (friend of mine ) who said I should get myself checked at the early pregnancy unit. From there this started where I was told I need a scan and they cannot detect where my pregnancy is at. Im just super worried. I also asked another doctor who is also a GP and a friend she said that its way to early to find anything on a scan and Im just worrying way too much.

thanks xx

Your friend could be right if your only 4/5 weeks. But it's definitely best to be on the safe side, if the PUL turns out to be eptopic it's better to catch it sooner rather than later. Wishing you all the best op

Just have to play the waiting game I guess to find out but just concerned.

It's not uncommon to not see anything on ultrasound before 6 weeks. Have you had your hCG levels tested? If they are under 2000 mIU/mL I wouldn't be too concerned although you should be closely monitored and go to A&E if you experience pain and or heavy bleeding.

Rani06 · 16/12/2019 23:35

I've had them tested and I have to wait another week to have them done again so they can be compared to see if the pregnancy is progressing.

From my experience they should be repeated after 48hours to see if they have doubled. Then they should work out when they think you should be around the 2000 mIU/mL and then scan you.

They are useless here I'm absolutely fuming.
