Amniocentesis at 32weeks

Hi

I would just like to hear any stories of those of you that have had an amnio at 32 weeks? My baby has a heart ARSA defect the growth has been tracked and I had the harmony test which all came back low risk and nothing further showing amiss on the scans and cardiac scan. I have been offered an amnio test at 32 weeks which I was told was low risk at this point only risk being could go into earlier labour but we would get an answer 100% from the amnio so I’m really debating whether to have it or not I’ve been under Kings who have been great

@AJC16 hi there. I am new to mumsnet and just looking how to put up my first post about a possible amino. Did you end up having the amino? Was everything ok? I’m only 20 weeks, so obviously more risky if I go ahead. X

Hi yes I went ahead with the late amnio at 32weeks no issues and was over very quickly I’m not sure what ur situation is but I’m glad I waited and had at 32weeks which was what my drs recommended best of luck it’s a tough time!

Why did they want you to have the amino? What were they concerned about? X

Hi, I am pregnant with my 3rd child at 20weeks, went for my scan this week and the baby has ARSA.
I had a harmony test done at 10 weeks - all good and low risk.
I am with kings too who are amazing.
Should I go for the amino at 32 weeks?
Or is there really no need?
Also I’d love some advice on how babies are after birth with ARSA- swallowing, breathing, feeding, general health?
I’m trying to do as much reading as I can but there is a lot of technical language out there!

I am 24 weeks pregnant now with my 2nd baby and found out my baby has ARSA at 20 weeks scan, and then went for harmony test and all good And low risk. I think we are almost same weeks would like to connect if thats okay to discuss.
