I have 1 miracle DD 3.5 -I have a muscular dystrophy condition which is genetic and gets worse by generation! Meaning that any baby I have may not survive or will suffer severely mentally and physically if it managed to survive. Due to this being a faulty gene it all depends on whether the egg I release had the faulty gene or not 50/50 chance either way everytime I get pregnant!
Since DD I was pregnant with a little boy who turned out to have Down Syndrome and the genetic condition so had TFMR in Dec 2017 after a while we felt ready to try again and got pregnant after TTC 4 months! Another little boy all trisomy tests came back fine but today just found out he has the genetic condition so will have to have another TFMR -I really thought this one would be ok but I'm totally heartbroken anyone have a similar experience and been able to TTC again I'm not sure I'm strong enough!!

Could they test your egg via IVF so you know which are the healthy eggs? I don’t know too much about IVF, but I think they can do tests. I know you are talking about conceiving naturally, but if you are prone to having genetic issues, this could help you have a healthy baby.

They can it's called PGD -we had started the testing fur this when we got pregnant with our DD -we were entitled to 3 free cycles on the NHS however my beautiful DD beat the odds and was fine.
Now we have a 'normal' child we are no longer entitled to funding (though we would be if we had an affected child which would cost the NHS millions if they survived!)
NHS England set the cost so it's the same across the country! It goes up every year but 2 years ago it was £15k per cycle and the success rate it 1 in 3 unfortunately we don't have £45k+ lying around so our only real option is to try naturally!!
I can't believe they make it so ridiculously expensive! If we didn't already have a child we probably could sell our house move somewhere smaller in a worse area and sell our car to perhaps be able to afford a couple of cycles but to do that now would mean moving DD away from her friends, to a different pre-school and I don't want her to grow up in a worse area! Xx

I've just got out of hospital today the placenta didn't come out properly so they tried for hours to get it out but it got stuck in my cervix so eventually I had to go the Theatre -for the TFMR I declined pain relief coz I wanted to be able to go home that was a mistake it was so painful that I was delirious and being sick! I lost so much blood that I had to have more blood transfusions!
I had to stay in for 4 days and they've let me come out today but my O2 levels in my blood are still low but they've given me iron and told me to rest!
It depends how my bleeding goes now but the scarring in my womb can make the placenta attach to it so it will not come out properly so they've recommended that we do not to try again naturally in case we have to have another TFMR as my womb couldn't take it and I don't think I can either- but we can't realistically afford PGD so we may not be able to have our my much longed for 2nd baby😭😭 xxx

Sorry to hear your TFMR didn't go well. Hope you have managed to get some rest.
